National Insurance Number

In order to work and stay in The United Kingdom you will need a National Insurance Number. What you need to do is phone: 0845 60 00 643.


You will be connected to a Customer Service Officer and they will ask you a variety of questions regarding your current and previous status (date of birth, address, UK address, university, family etc.). After that you can arrange your official interview. For the University of Salford the best way to go for an interview is one of the Job Center Plus offices, which is situated near Manchester Court of Justice in Salford. The interviewer will provide you all the paths and give you a detailed instructions on how to get there. Make sure you are calling for yourself otherwise you will not be able to arrange an interview. Another important issue is that you prepare all the necessary documentations including your passport, driving license, ID card etc. in order to have a successful application. Good luck.

IMPORTANT FOR Bulgarian and Romanian nationals:
YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO ATTEND AN INTERVIEW FOR NATIONAL INSURANCE NUMBER UNLESS YOU HAVE GOT WORK PERMIT FROM HM REVENUE AND CUSTOMS.
